Isaiah Anthony Dobbins was born on January 29, 1944. He had two brothers and three sisters. His home of record is Magnolia, NJ. Isaiah graduated Sterling Regional High School in Magnolia in 1967.
Isaiah played Varsity Center for the Sterling High School Football Team.
Isaiah served in the US Army as a machine gunner with the 162nd Helicopter Assault Company. He attained the rank of Specialist 4 (SP4). Isaiah planned for a career in aircraft maintenance when he finished his enlistment.
Dobbins was killed in action on February 7, 1967. He drowned in a helicopter accident, 30 miles southwest of Saigon.
Dobbins was survived by a wife and two stepchildren. He is buried in Beverly National Cemetery. He was awarded the Bronze Star and various other medals.
“Pete”, as he was fondly known as, was a loving and wonderful husband and stepfather who brought about many great changes in my children and my life. We loved him dearly.
