Harry E. Wagner was born on March 20, 1947, to Paul and Amelia Wagner. After the death of his mother when he was five months old, Harry went to live with his guardian, Nelson Coleman, in Trenton, NJ. He graduated from Ewing High School in 1965, and worked at Food Fair Supermarket on Parkway Avenue.
In August 1965, Wagner entered the US Marine Corps. He was stationed at Camp Lejeune, NC, when he volunteered for service in Vietnam. He departed from Camp Pendleton, CA in April 1966 to begin his 13 month tour in Vietnam with Battery D, 3rd Battalion, 12th Marines, 3rd Marine Division. Wagner attained the rank of Lance Corporal (LCPL/E3).
On April 5, 1967, Wagner was killed by a sniper in the Thau Thien Province of South Vietnam. He was 20 years old.
Wagner is buried in Pennington Cemetery.
