Edwin H. Levering was born on December 19, 1938. His home of record is Rancocas Woods, NJ. He was a resident of Fawn Lake Village Trailer Park in Indian Mills, NJ.
He served in the US Army and attained the rank of Staff Sergeant (SSGT). He served as a Squad Leader of a machine-gun unit with Company B, 1st Battalion, 2nd Infantry.
Levering was awarded the Purple Heart and the Air Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster. He was killed in action during his second Tour of Duty, on April 11, 1966. He is buried at Beverly National Cemetery in Beverly, New Jersey. He was survived by his parents, brother and six sisters.
