David D. Higdon, Jr. was born on March 10, 1944, to Mr. and Mrs. David Higdon. His home of record is Glen Rock, NJ. He was called by his middle name, Darrin. He graduated from Glen Rock High School in 1962, where he excelled in sports. Under his yearbook picture it states: “Higgs… ‘Who does not live wine, woman and song remains a fool his whole life long’…Skin Diving Club…Football…Track…Future Plans; Oceanography.”

He served in the US Army and attained the rank of Private First Class (PFC). Higdon wanted to become a Green Beret. He was assigned to the 1st Infantry Division in Vietnam.

Higdon was killed in action by a Viet Cong booby trap on April 14, 1966.He is buried at Laurel Grove Cemetery in Totowa, NJ.
