Manuel Moore was born on August 2, 1941, in Huntsville, AL. He lived with his mother in Hackensack, NJ. His home of record is Hackensack, NJ. Manuel had two sisters, Patricia and Dorothy, and one brother, Tyrone.
He entered the US Army in 1960, and attained the rank of Specialist 5 (SP5). Prior to being sent to Vietnam in the summer of 1967, Moore served with the Military Police at Fort Leavenworth, KS. In Vietnam he was nicknamed “Sweet Pea.” He served at Camp Enari which was close to Pleiku.
Moore was killed in action on April 30, 1968. He was ambushed in Montagnard village. He was survived by a wife and two step-children.
He is buried at St. Bartley Primitive Baptist Church, in Huntsville, AL.
