Edward J. Paul III was born on December 6, 1946 to Mrs. Margaret and Mr. Edward J. Paul, Jr. He was born in New York City and moved to Passaic, NJ with his family in 1959.
He attended St. Nicholas Grammar School. He then attended Pope Pius XII High School, graduating in 1964. He was a baseball and basketball fan who enjoyed playing billiards and listening to Jazz.
Upon graduation, he hoped to become an engineer. He attended Farleigh Dickinson University (for 1 and a half years) at night while working as a Clerk for New York Life Insurance Company.
He was inducted into the US Army in February 1966 and attained the rank of Specialist 4 (SP4). He arrived in Vietnam on Thanksgiving of 1966 and served as a Teletype Operator near Can Ranh Bay.
Paul was killed in action on April 6, 1967. He was survived by his parents, grandparents and three sisters, Barbara, Jean and Lorraine.
