Jerry Morgan, Jr. was born on April 3, 1948, and lived with his family lived in Long Branch, NJ. Jerry was a 1967 graduate of Long Branch High School.
Morgan entered the US Army in May 1968, where he attained the rank of Corporal (CPL). He was assigned to B Company 2nd/12th 25th Infantry Division in Vietnam.
On April 21, 1969, Morgan was killed in action during combat operations when his unit encountered a hostile force near Saigon in South Vietnam.
The city of Long Branch has named a park in honor of Jerry Morgan, Jr.
