Jimmy M. Dolan was born on February 28, 1951. His home of record is Newark, NJ. He had one brother, Patrick, and six sisters, Rosemary, Cathy, Patty, Margaret, Maryanne and Maureen.

Jimmy enlisted in the US Navy on April 28, 1969, and was sent to Vietnam on July 11, 1969, with the 52nd Division aboard the Oriskany. He attained the rank of Seaman Recruit (SR).

Dolan was listed as killed in action on August 24, 1969, when he fell off the aircraft carrier USS Oriskany and drowned off the coast of South Vietnam. His body was never recovered although skin divers searched the area extensively.

Dolan was survived by his wife, Mrs. Pauline Natoli Dolan and a son, James Jr., his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Dolan and seven siblings.
