Robert W. Andreasen was born on October 8, 1946, to Mr. and Mrs. Albert and Loretta C. Andreasen. His home of record is Maplewood, NJ. As a youth, Robert was active in the Boy Scouts of America and had achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. He attended St. Joseph’s as a child and later MJH for 9th grade. He graduated from Columbia High School in 1964.

He entered the US Army and attained the rank of Private First Class (PFC/E3).

Andreasen was killed in action in South Vietnam on November 28, 1965. He died of wounds from an enemy land mine.

He was laid to rest in Arlington National Cemetery.

Robert was the first of Maplewood’s five casualties of the Vietnam War. A plaque at Maplewood Memorial Library pertaining to Vietnam War deaths includes Robert.
