Richard Greenspan was born on April 2, 1947. His home of record is Nutley, NJ. Richard had one sister, Fran. He attended Nutley High School and the Eastern Military Academy. He was a member in good standing of Temple B’nai Israel, Nutley, where he made his Bar Mitzvah. He also attended the Temple’s religious schools.

He served in the US Marine Corps and attained the rank of Private First Class (PFC). Greenspan completed his training at Quantico, VA, and Parris Island, SC. He completed a tour of duty in Puerto Rico and the Mediterranean, prior being assigned to Vietnam.

Greenspan was killed in action on November 10, 1968, in Quan-Tri Province, Vietnam.
