Edward F. Brady III was born on December 17, 1946, to Mr. and Mrs. Edward F. Brady. His home of record is Newark, NJ. Edward has three sisters, Theresa, Ellen and Mrs. Joseph Boreale. He was raised in the Vailsburg section of Newark. Edward attended Sacred Hearth School and graduated from St. Benedict’s Prep in 1964. Edward completed his education at Fairfield University in Connecticut before entering the service.

He served in the US Army and attained the rank of Staff Sergeant (SSGT). Brady completed basic training at Fort Dix, NJ, and completed NCOC School at Fort Benning, GA. Advanced Infantry Training was completed in Alabama.

He was sent to Vietnam on November 11, 1969, and assigned to 1st Battalion, 5th US Cavalry, 1st Cavalry Division.

Brady was killed in action on May 12, 1970, by a landmine.

He was survived by his wife, Patricia. Brady is buried at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover, NJ.
