Thomas R. Kyle, Jr. was born on December 10, 1946, to Mr. and Mrs. Thomas R. Kyle. His home of record is Hoboken, NJ. He had two brothers, Kevin and Dennis.

Kyle was drafted into the US Army, but instead enlisted in the US Marine Corps and attained the rank of Private First Class (PFC) with the Third Marine Division.

Kyle was killed in action on August 20, 1966, from head wounds received while on a patrol near DaNang. He had been in Vietnam just six weeks during which time he wrote letters to his parents which were full of optimism and hope. He is buried at Maryrest Cemetery, Mahwah, New Jersey.
