Hank K. Bretschneider was born on October 5, 1939. His home of record is Hoboken, NJ.

He served in the US Army and attained the rank of Staff Sergeant (SSGT), serving with the First Infantry Division as a Tank Commander. He began his tour in Vietnam on September 11, 1965.

Bretschneider was killed in action on July 9, 1966. He is buried at Hauptfriedhof Altona, Hamburg, Germany.
