Robert James Robinson was born January 21, 1947. His home of record is Plainfield, NJ. He had a sister, Sandra, and two brothers, Curtis, and his twin, Richard. Robert attended Cedarbrook Elementary School, Hubbard Middle School, and graduated from Plainfield High School in 1965. His interests included three years of chorus, one year of varsity cross-country, and two years of varsity track. He also enjoyed coaching Little League Baseball.
Robinson enlisted in the US Marine Corps on May 23, 1968, and soon transferred to the US Army. He received Basic Combat Training, was a Toolroom Keeper, a Combat Demo Specialist, and a Light Weapon Infantryman. He attained the rank of Specialist 4 (SP4).
On June 23, 1969, Robinson was killed in action near Dak To, Vietnam. He was 22 years old.
In recognition of his service, he received eight awards, including the National Defense Medal, the Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Palm Unit Citation Badge, and the Expert Badge with Machine Gun Bar.
He is buried in Middlesex Hillside Cemetery, South Plainfield, NJ.
