Hugh Julius Ronneberg was born on December 19, 1949. His home of record is Plainfield, NJ. He enjoyed playing baseball and loved to draw. He entered the US Army on August 4, 1969, where he attained the rank of Corporal (CPL). Before entering the US Army he worked as a groomer at the Laurel Racetrack in Laurel, MD.
Ronneberg was killed in action on March 18, 1970, when a mine was detonated by a tank he was driving. He was 20 years old.
Ronneberg received the following decorations and awards: National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Bronze Star Medal, Purple Heart Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, Good Conduct Medal, Republic of Vietnam Military Merit Medal, Expert Badge with Machine Gun Bar and Marksman Badge with Rifle Bar.
