Ronald Robbins was born on March 9, 1948, to Sidney and Lillian Robbins. His home of record is Trenton, NJ. He had one brother, Melvin. Ronald graduated from Trenton High School in 1966, where he enjoyed basketball, gymnastics, and was a Boy Scout.

While in the US Army, Robbins attained the rank of Specialist 4. He was an artillery instructor at Fort Bliss, Texas before being sent to Vietnam.

Robbins began his tour in Vietnam on October 5, 1968. He served with C Battery, 1st Battalion, 44th Artillery.

Robbins was killed on August 11, 1969, in Quang Tri Province, South Vietnam when rockets were fired into his unit base camp near Dang Ha. He was 20 years old.

He was awarded the Purple Heart and Bronze Star.
