Albert Korona III was born on January 28, 1947, to Mary and Albert Korona, Jr. He had one brother, Laurence. His home of record is Trenton, NJ. Albert was a 1965 graduate of Trenton Central High School. He loved sports, fishing, NASCAR, Stock Car Racing, Drag Racing, and Horseback Riding. Al’s pride and joy was his 1963 Corvette Stingray Convertible. He loved animals and his cat, “Sneezy” and his dog, “Gami”, a black royal standard French poodle.

Albert was employed by DeLaval Turbine, Inc. and loved his work as a draftsman. After the Army, he was going to go to college and have a career as an automobile designer. His dream was to work for General Motors.

Korona was drafted into the US Army in April 1966, and attained the rank of Specialist 4 (SP4). He served as a radio-telephone operator with A Company, 3rd Battalion, 39th Infantry, 9th Infantry Division in the Mekong Delta.

Korona was killed in action on May 18, 1967, near Rechkien, South Vietnam.

He was posthumously awarded the Purple Heart and Silver Star plus a number of Vietnam Medals.
