Charles Fredrick Bigham was born on April 6, 1946, to Mr. and Mrs. John Bigham. He had one sister, Pamela. He graduated from Park Ridge High School in 1965. He had a special interest in cars and tools.

He entered the US Marine Corps on January 26, 1966, and attained the rank of Lance Corporal (LCPL). On September 2, 1967, at the age of 21, Bigham was killed in action in South Vietnam, Quang Tri Province during an attack against his unit.

Bigham was buried in George Washington Cemetery in Paramus, NJ. He was awarded the Purple Heart, the Vietnam Service Medal and several other medals.
