James F. Sosnowski was born on February 29, 1940, to Mr. and Mrs. Frank Sosnowski. He had one sister, Joan. His home of record is Bayonne, NJ.

In 1961, James graduated from St. Peter’s College and continued his education at the College of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery in Des Moines, IA. For two years, he resided at Columbus General Hospital, in Columbus, OH, before entering the US Army in September 1967.

In Vietnam, Sosnowski served as an Army doctor and attained the rank of Captain (CAPT).

On February 16, 1968, while working at the 45th Surgical Field Hospital, 15 miles northwest of Saigon, Sosnowski was killed in a Viet Cong raid. He was 28 years old.
