Francis Michael McGuire was born on November 30, 1946. His home of record is Bayonne, NJ. He had a brother, Dennis, and a half-brother, Chucky Scalfane. Dennis and his friends hung out at the P.A.L. every afternoon and played basketball. He graduated from Bayonne High School. His great enjoyment in life was dancing. Francis worked for the Nardini Electric Company before being inducted into the US Army.

On February 9, 1966, McGuire began his service in the US Army. He completed his basic training at Fort Dix, NJ, and Fort Polk, LA, where he attained the rank of Private (PVT). When he arrived in Vietnam, he was assigned to the 1st Cavalry Division (Airmobile).

On March 20, 1967, after eight months in Vietnam, McGuire was killed in action by grenade fragments while on a mission in South Vietnam.
