Gale Herbert Felver was born on July 2, 1946, to Margaret and John Felver, Sr. His home of record is Rahway, NJ. He had one brother, John Jr. Gale graduated from Rahway High School in 1964. He enjoyed baseball, church group and had a love of animals.

Gale entered the US Navy on June 30, 1964, and attained the rank of Hospital Corpsman Second Class (HM2). He was stationed at Philadelphia Naval Hospital with only 10 months to go when he volunteered for Vietnam. He had applied to Physical Therapy School and the application was approved the day after he volunteered.

Felver was killed in action on July 29, 1966, when he stepped on a landmine.

He received the Purple Heart, the Vietnam Service Medal and the National Defense Service Medal.
