William G. Dutches was born on April 16, 1945. His home of record is Hawthorne, NJ. He had two brothers, George and Frank and a sister, Brenda. William attended Saint Anthony’s school, graduating in 1958. He graduated from Hawthorne High School in 1964.

Dutches served in the US Marine Corps and attained the rank of Lance Corporal (LCPL). He was assigned to G Company, 2nd Battalion, 9th Marines, 3rd Marine Division.

Dutches was killed in action on June 14, 1966. William is one of the men listed on the Hawthorne Korea-Vietnam Monument located in Hawthorne, NJ in Passaic County. The marker is at the location of Lafayette Avenue and Warburton Avenue. He is buried at Mary Rest Cemetery in Mahwah, NJ.
