Richard L. Boltz was born on April 19, 1945. His home of record is Ridgefield Park, NJ.

Boltz was drafted into the US Army in 1965. He served as a machine gunner with A Company, 4th Battalion, 31st Infantry Regiment, 196th Light Infantry Brigade. He was part of the 1st Platoon, 4th Squad. He attained the rank of Private First Class (PFC).

Boltz was killed in action on February 28, 1967, while on a search and destroy mission near Saigon.

He was survived by his father, Raymond Boltz.
