David F. Ackerman was born on October 5, 1945, to Mr. and Mrs. Donald Ackerman. His home of record is Summit, NJ.

He served in the US Army and attained the rank of Private First Class (PFC). Ackerman served with the 524th QM Co, 96th S&S BN, 54th GS Group.

Ackerman was killed in action on July 6, 1969. Ackerman was awarded the Purple Heart, National Defense, Vietnam Service and Vietnam Campaign medals. He was also awarded the Combat Infantry Badge. He was survived by a daughter, Laura. David is buried at Fairview Cemetery, Westfield, New Jersey.
