Robert W. Worthington was born on December 9, 1947, to Robert and Margaret Worthington. He had two brothers and two sisters. His home of record is Ewing Township, NJ. He attended Ewing High School, graduating in 1965. He loved sports, listening to music, going to concerts and new clothes. Bob attended Eastern Kentucky University in the fall semester of 1969, and dropped out in December when we was drafted.

He served in the US Army where he attained the rank of Private First Class (PFC).

Worthington was killed in action in Vietnam on May 5, 1970 when his vehicle hit a land mine. He is buried in Arlington National Cemetery.

Worthington was posthumously awarded the Purple Heart.
