Anthony C. Sciavolino was born on October 12, 1945. His home of record is Union City, NJ. His was an only child. He drove a cherry red Mustang convertible.
Sciavolino served in the US Army and attained the rank of Specialist 4 (SP4). He was assigned to the 196th Light Infantry Brigade.
Sciavolino was killed in action while on night patrol in Tay Ninh, South Vietnam, on December 12, 1966.
He received the following medals for his service: the Purple Heart, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal and the Combat Rifle U.S. Military Blue.
Anthony Sciavolino is the subject of a book, Letters to Tony authored by his staff sergeant Ronald Figueroa, who served in the same unit.
