Robert Moore, Jr. was born on July 14, 1948 to Mr. and Mrs. Robert Moore, Sr. His home of record is Elmer, NJ. He attended Memorial High School in Vineland, NJ.
He enlisted in the US Army on January 5, 1968 and attained the rank of Specialist 4 (SP4). He was a Mechanic at a generating plant near Da Nang. He trained at Fort Dix and arrived in Vietnam in February. He served with the 647th QM CO, 240th QM BN, 593rd GS Group, Army SPT CMD Qui Nhon, 1st Log Cmd.
Moore was killed in action on November 23, 1969. He was survived by his parents and six sisters; Joyce, Darlene, Shirley and Mary Ruth Moore as well as Jeanne Lettich and Caroline Eisenhower. He is buried at Chestnut Grove Cemetery in Elmer, NJ.
Russell G. Garrison Memorial Park in Woodstown, NJ hosts a monument that bears his name. The monument was dedicated in the 1960s to local residents lost during the Vietnam War.
