Thomas Allerton Meade was born October 17, 1947. His home of record is Orange, NJ. After graduating from Our Lady of the Valley High School, Tom began training on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange.
In September 1967, Tom and his brother, John Jr., entered the US Marine Corps and went through boot camp together. Shortly after boot camp, Tom was assigned to Vietnam, Company D, 26th Marines, 2nd Marine Division, where he attained the rank of Corporal (CPL).
On February 6, 1968, CPL Meade was killed in action at Khe Sanh, Vietnam during the Tet Offensive at the age of 20.
He left behind three sisters, three brothers and his parents.
He was awarded the Purple Heart, the National Defense Medal,the Vietnam Service Medal, the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, the Gallantry Cross with Palm and the Vietnam Military Merit Medal.
In May 1996, Meade was honored posthumously with the New Jersey Distinguished Service Medal.
