Adamo Ermino De Angelis was born on July 27, 1931. His home of record is Ramsey, NJ.

De Angelis was so adamant about joining the US Army that he attempted to enlist twice under assumed names and lied about his age; the first time at age 15.

He was a member of the National Guard prior to volunteering for active duty in the US Army, at age 36. De Angelis attained the rank of Captain (CAPT). He was a career soldier. Previous to his tour of duty in Vietnam, he served in Korea. He volunteered to serve in Vietnam because he believed that, as an experienced officer, he could help to save many young lives.

De Angelis was killed in action in a helicopter crash on October 31, 1969. He was survived by his wife and five children.

De Angelis was awarded a Silver and Bronze Star.
