Paul E. Serven was born on January 22, 1948, in Hackensack, NJ, to Nelson and Pauline Serven. His home of record is Ramsey, NJ. He graduated from Ramsey High School in 1966. He was a member of the National Honor Society and the Science Enrichment Program. He was secretary-treasurer of both the Stage Crew and Audio Visual Aids. Under his yearbook picture it states, “Mrs. Corizzi, lasagna, Lost in Space, Venus, and Barbara Streisand rate high…peeved by people who don’t do things because no one else does…can be found working to pay for college…a certain girl brings him luck…NCE. ‘Honor lies in honest toil.’”

Paul was an Eagle Scout and later joined an Explorer post where he served as an assistant scoutmaster and an advisor. Paul graduated from Newark College of Engineering.

He served in the US Army and attained the rank of Specialist 4 (SP4). Serven was an infantryman.

Serven was killed in action on March 27, 1971.
