Alfred F. Wiggins, Jr. was born on May 5, 1951. His home of record is Jersey City, NJ. Wiggins attended Public School 23 and Dickinson High School. He was an avid sports fan with interests in swimming, baseball and basketball. He was also a member of the St. John’s Church Boy Scout Troop.
He left Dickinson at the age of 17 to join the Army. He served in the US Army and attained the rank of Private (PVT). Wiggins received basic training at Fort Dix and was transferred to Shepherd Air Force Base and later Fort Polk. He received parachute training at Fort Benning and was awarded his jump wings.
Wiggins was killed in action on June 5, 1970. He is buried at Holy Cross Cemetery.
