Dennis F. Delasandro was born on December 1, 1944. His home of record is Atlantic City, NJ. His nickname was Del.
He served in the US Army and attained the rank of Specialist 4 (SP4). Dennis did his basic training at Fort Dix, NJ, and Jump School at Fort Benning, GA.
Delasandro served with 1st Battalion, 5th Infantry, 2nd Brigade, 25th Infantry Division, Company A. He served as a “Tunnel Rat” in the Cu Chi area. He was killed in action on December 28, 1966, while looking down into a spider hole that was part of a Viet Cong tunnel complex.
