Laszlo Boross, Jr. was born on October 13, 1947 in Hungary. His home of record is Nixon, NJ. He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Laszlo L. Boross, Sr. and sister Mrs. Clara Gogas and one brother, Leonard.
He served in the US Army from April 1967 through January 1968. He attained the rank of Sergeant (SGT) while serving with the 1st Signal Brigade.
Boross was killed in action on January 31, 1968. He was part of Task Force-35 during TET 1968, Tan Son Nhut Air Base, RVN. Sgt Boross was called upon to help protect the Air Base along with the regular Security Police personnel. Mr. and Mrs. Boross were notified Friday that their 20 year old son died of chest injuries on Jan. 31, the day before he was to leave for home. The notification was also painful to Boross’ 17 year old fiancé, Donna Micholic of Carteret whom he was to marry this summer. He is buried at Van Liew Cemetery in New Brunswick, NJ.
