John B. Abbatemarco was born to Anna and Charles Abbatemarco on March 24, 1949. His home of record is Hackensack, NJ.
John was a high school athlete, a wrestler, Baseball player and member of the bowling team. He graduated from Hackensack High School in 1968.
He enlisted in the US Army the year after high school. Abbatemarco attained the rank of Sergeant (SGT).
Abbatemarco was killed in action on May 13, 1970, near the Cambodian border. He was awarded the Purple Heart.
He was survived by his mother, Anna Abbatemarco and his three siblings, Maryann, Rose and Charles. He is buried at Westwood Cemetery in Westwood, NJ.

“Sergeant John Benjamin Abbatemarco was my father’s medic in Cambodia. My father has incredibly fond memories of him. He was honored to be with “Doc” as were all the other men that knew John so well. Everyone loved “Doc.” It is a deep tragedy he passed, but he will be remembered and honored for many years to come.”
