John M. Frambes was born on April 24, 1947 to Charles and Ann Mahlon Frambes. His home of record is Vineland, NJ.

He served in the US Army and attained the rank of Corporal (CPL). He served with the 101st Airborne Division, Small Weapons. He attained the rank of Corporal a day or two prior to his death. He had been transferred right before his death and wrote to his family last from DaNang. A letter to his parents was received after he died which counted down the days until his return home. Although he wrote regularly, he never complained of food or any conditions during his weeks in Vietnam. His mother stated “he had a deep sense of responsibility.”

Frambes was killed in action on June 11, 1967. John is buried at Siloam Cemetery in Vineland, NJ.
