Franklin C. Armento was born on September 5, 1941 to Frank and Anna Armento. His home of record is Irvington, NJ.
He served in the US Army and attained the rank of Specialist 4 (SP4). He served with ATrp, 2nd Sqdn, 1st Cavalry, 4th Inf Div. He was awarded the Purple Heart, National Defense, Vietnam Service and Vietnam Campaign medals.
Armento was killed in action on March 15, 1968. He was killed by a rocket from an ambush during the Tet Offensive in 1968. His crew nicknamed him “Pops.” He was survived by his parents, sister Clarissa (Matthews), brother Dennis and wife Anna. He is buried in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, NJ.
