Larry J. High was born on October 26, 1945 in Jersey City. His family later relocated to Hoboken, NJ.
High attended Hoboken High School where he was a star student. He left during his senior year to help support his family, enlisting in the US Marine Corps in July 1965. He attained the rank of Private First Class (PFC). He had planned on making a career out of his service. High was sent to Vietnam in June 1967.
High was killed in action on September 23, 1967. He is buried at Long Island National Cemetery in Farmingdale, NY.
He was survived by his mother Laura Bostic High, father Roosevelt High and siblings Franklin, Barbara (Richwood), and grandparents Letitia High and Mr. and Mrs. J.F. Bostic.
