Andrew J. Kiefhaber was born April 1, 1948. His home of record is Browns Mills, NJ. He grew up in Brooklyn, NY, and was a 1965 graduate of Bishop Loughlin High School where he enjoyed fencing, swimming, and hunting. He was a member of the chess club and involved with intramural sports and a member of the LaSalle Club and dance committee. His family then moved to Browns Mills, NJ. He had one sister, Rosemary, and one brother, William.
He entered the US Army in February 1968, where he attained the rank of Corporal (CPL).
On February 23, 1969, at the age of 20, Kiefhaber was killed in action when, according to his Report of Casualty, he was hit with fragments from a hostile booby trap.
He received the Purple Heart and the Silver Star.
