Biography


Harold J. Lanning was born on March 11, 1935, to Horace Appleton and Katheryn Lanning.  His home of record is Wanamassa, NJ.

He enlisted in the US Navy and attained the rank of Boatswains Mate Third Class (BM3).

Lanning was killed in action on October 13, 1965.  He was survived by his son, Harold Jay Lanning, Jr., and two sisters, Helena and Mary.
