Faces Bio

Rocco Jerry De Mercurio was born on March 24, 1950, to Ruth Eileen and Savaio De Mercurio. His home of record is Allendale, NJ. Rocco had one brother, Barry, and three sisters, Cindy, Judy and Jill. Rocco graduated from Northern Highlands Regional High School in 1968.

Rocco enlisted in the US Marine Corps where he attained the rank of Private First Class (PFC).

De Mercurio was wounded while in South Vietnam, Quang Tri Province. He remained in a coma until he died on December 31, 1969, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in the Bronx, NY.

Rocco was awarded the Purple Heart, the Bronze Star, the Good Conduct Medal, the Combat Action Ribbon, the Vietnamese Campaign Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal and the National Defense Service Medal.
