Biography
Gregory McIntyre was born October 27, 1947, in Orange, NJ, to Mr. and Mrs. John J. McIntyre. His home of record is Maplewood, NJ. He had one sister, Sandra. The family moved from West Orange, NJ, to Maplewood, NJ, when he was 3. Gregory graduated from Columbia High School in 1965 and then attended Seton Hall University for 2 years.
He enlisted in the US Marine Corps in August 1967 and completed training at Parris Island, NC. McIntyre attained the rank of Private First Class (PFC). He was sent to Vietnam on January 7, 1968, after a brief pre-holiday furlough with his parents.
McIntyre was killed in action on February 22, 1968, in a demolition action in Quang Ngai, near Danang.
