Biography


Warren L. Bibbs was born on April 2, 1945.  His home of record is Dividing Creek, NJ.

Warren was one of 9 children born in the Bibbs Family of 5 brothers and 3 sisters. He graduated from Bridgeton High School and was working at the Wheaton Glass Company when he went to a Philadelphia Recruiting Office and enlisted in the Marines 15 November 1967. Arriving in Vietnam 9 April 1968, Warren was assigned to 1st Platoon of Hotel Company, 2nd Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division. The company was on a sweep north along the Jones Creek north of Dong Ha, when the battalion made contact with hostile forces. Warren died as a result of gunshot wounds to the body while participating in Operation Napoleon/Saline.

Bibbs was killed in action on July 7, 1968. He is survived by his parents, John and Anna L. Bibbs, his five brothes and three sisters. Private First Class (PFC) Bibbs is buried in Centre Grove Cemetery, Millville, New Jersey.
