Biography


Michael Edward Zibura, Jr. was born on May 2, 1947. His home of record is Boonton, NJ. He was the son of Michael and Margaret Zibura and his siblings include Carolyn, Susan, Peggy, Cathy, Cindy and Mary Ellen. Michael graduated from Morris Catholic High School in 1965 where he was Senior Class President, Assistant Yearbook editor, member of the French Club, Glee Club, Photography Club and President of the History Club. He received additional education at Villanova University.

Michael entered the US Army on January 21, 1968. He served in Company B, 2nd Battalion, 1st Infantry Division where he attained the rank of Corporal (CPL/E3).

Zibura was killed in action on September 18, 1968, at the age of 21 in the Pleiku Providence of South Vietnam.

He was awarded the Purple Heart, the Vietnam Service Medal and the American Defense Medal for his service in Vietnam.
