Biography
Richard J. Roughgarden was born on August 19, 1943. His home of record is Hawthorne, NJ. After graduating from Saint Peter's Prep in Jersey City, NJ, Richard went on to attend Notre Dame University. During his time at Notre Dame, he was in the Army ROTC.
Upon graduation in 1966, he was commissioned as a First Lieutenant (1LT) in the US Army. Roughgarden was sent to Vietnam and was killed in action on September 14, 1969.
