Biography


 

Charles Paul Ellis was born on June 17, 1946.  His home of record is Oradell, NJ.  Charles was one of ten children to be born to Mr. and Mrs. Charles Ellis.

Charles entered the US Marine Corps and attained the rank of Private First Class (PFC).

Ellis often asked his family to send cakes and candy to distribute to children in an orphanage near his Marine camp in Da Nang.  He also requested a camera so he could photograph these youngsters.

He was killed in action on September 13, 1966, by an enemy bullet. He is buried at Saint Joseph Cemetery in Hackensack, New Jersey.
