Biography


Robert B. Smith was born on February 7, 1947.  His home of record is Plainsboro, NJ. He attended Plainsboro Elementary School and Princeton High School.

He served in the US Army and attained the rank of Private First Class (PFC). He earned the Combat Infantryman’s Badge. Smith was an infantry observer attached to Company E, 3rd Battalion, 199th Infantry Brigade. He  received his training at Fort Dix and Fort Benning.

Smith was killed in action on March 3, 1967.  He is buried in Beverly National Cemetery. He was survived by his mother, Mrs. Leroy Smith.
