Biography
Edward W. Pawlowski was born on December 20, 1943, to Edward and Estelle Pawlowski. His home of record is Union, NJ. He graduated from Union High School in 1961. Edward enjoyed swimming, water skiing, flying, golf and baseball. He was a New York Yankee fan, loved Ballantine Beer and Corvettes.
Edward attended the University of Miami in Coral Gables, FL. He was in the US Navy ROTC. He then entered the US Navy where he attained the rank of Lieutenant Junior Grade (LTJG/O2).
On March 23, 1969, at the age of 25, Pawlowski died in action in South Vietnam, Ha Tien, Kien Giang Province, while co-piloting a UH-1B with the Navy Seawolves, Helaktron 3, Detachment 3.
Edward received the National Defense Service Medal, the Air Medal with Numeral "4" and Bronze Stars, the Vietnam Service Medal with one Bronze Star and the Purple Heart.
Pawlowski was buried at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover, NJ. His parents and his sister, Elaine, survived him.
