Biography

Gregory Del Guidice was born on July 1, 1949 to Eugene and Ann Del Guidice. His home of record is Jersey City, NJ.

He attended Valley Forge Military Academy and Snyder High School, but did not graduate. He planned on finishing his education while in the military and wanted to attend college after his discharge. His favorite activities were water sports, especially water skiing and surfing, and he had been a lifeguard in Bayonne, NJ. He was also a skydiving enthusiast and wanted to join an airborne division in the service.

Del Guidice served in the US Army and attained the rank of Specialist 4(SP4). In Panama, for seventeen months, he had been in the Army Finance office, an MP and finally, a lifeguard with the special services. He married in November 1968, prior to being sent to Vietnam, where he was a machine gun specialist. He met his wife, Mary, while stationed in Panama.

He was interested in keeping up with local politics and had The Jersey Journal shipped to him.

Del Guidice was killed in action on August 13, 1969, during a mortar attack on Tai Ninh, where he was stationed with the 5th Armored Division.
