Biography


Richard Wayne Davis was born on April 12, 1949, to Mr. and Mrs. Walter Davis.  His home of record is Vineland, NJ.  He had one brother.  He attended Vineland High School until 1968, when during his sophomore year he quit to enlist in the Armed Forces.

Davis served in the US Marine Corps and attained the rank of Lance Corporal (LCPL).

On January 4, 1969, Davis became ill with fever and was being evacuated from the battlefield.  As he was being carried to a waiting helicopter, a sniper shot him in the head. He is buried at Siloam Cemetery in Vineland, New Jersey.
