Biography


Udo Hannigan was born on October 4, 1947, to Mr. and Mrs. Joseph W. Hannigan. His home of record is Beverly, NJ. He attended Palmyra High School, leaving in 1965 to join the US Army.

Upon entering the US Army, he was sent to Fort Benning, GA, for airborne training from the Special Forces. He qualified for his green beret in May 1966. He attained the rank of Private (PVT). In December 1967, he was sent to Vietnam.

On April 18, 1968, near Hue, Hannigan was killed in action by fragments of an exploding mine.

Besides his parents, he was survived by three brothers, John, Roy and David, and a sister, Anita.
